Development: Social aspect

DEVELOPMENT

Nicaragua continues to be the country with the large mass of unemployed in Central America and the young are most affected by unemployment. According to the president of the Board of INCAE, Roberto Artavia Loría, argues that there are three obstacles that keep backward country in reducing unemployment "The low levels of investment in education, low levels of education in the workforce that sometimes makes it difficult to aspire to formal positions within a competitive international economy and the third is a structural problem. The informal economy is so large and so diverse that absorbed the young. "

The solution to this problem is to raise levels of schooling for this the Government will should made economic investments, to transform, modernize, strengthen and diversify the system of education that is being carried place in Nicaragua, to achieve quality education with quality. Universities should be less professional social scientists and more in technical specialties as engineers, because today these specialties require companies to compete and prosper.

From my point of view the biggest problem of unemployment in Nicaragua are low levels of education presented, this is because the country lacks adequate investment of resources for the education of persons, this prevents people to have a quality education and achieve a title that allows to achieve a working level commensurate with their level of education.

In Nicaragua analyze another important area is the exclusion of the work that young people suffering has reached intolerable levels high. According to a document prepared by the International Labour Organization (ILO) unemployment rates for workers between 16 and 24 years of age are generally higher than in other age groups and demographic groups, and twice the overall unemployment rate.

  • The youth unemployment is a real waste of human resources, which hurts both the affected and their families. The new generations have difficulty integrating into the labor market.

  • This phenomenon brings the country a weakening of the social fabric. Increases homicide, rape, drug related crimes, suicides, crime, appearance of illegal groups, number and percentage of young prisoners in the prison population.

  • Men affected by acute problems of unemployment and far from the minimum wage requirements do not amount to stable families, or abandon their familiar framework. Families are in charge of women.

  • As part of family survival strategies, all family members are often forced to contribute to the meager household income and accept any job offered to them.

  • Often included are children who are one of the most vulnerable and exploited groups in the workplace. Some poor families send their children to work and do not have many opportunities to receive basic education.

The solutions according to the ILO and UNICEF to improve unemployment in Nicaragua is to generate strategies to reduce child labor, increasing integration of education in children and create more opportunities for young labor demand and labor sector integration that allows for adequate wages for support and quality of life of families.

From my point of view, these strategies are achievable and help in Nicaragua to solve unemployment, giving higher pay and opportunities for young people and allowing adequate education to children, avoiding work and exploitation of children.
